Covenant Youth Camp

Camp is for those in grades 5-12.  The Theme of Camp 2023 (June 20-23) will be “Living as Salt and Light” as we unpack select passages in the Sermon on the Mount.  This is what being a child of the kingdom and our witness to the world looks like.

 The theme verse will be Matthew 5:16: In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

#1: Opening talk on salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16)

 #2: Anger and hatred (Matthew 5:21-26)

 #3: Prayer (Matthew 6:5-14)

 #4: Anxiety (Matthew 6:25-34)

 #5: Judging others (Matthew 7:1-6)

Also, all counselors and pastors who are staying overnight at camp are required to have a background check through Protect My Ministry.

Heidelberg Youth Camp

Heidelberg Youth Camp, or HYC for short, is a work of the Northern Plains and South Central Classis to provide a week of Chrisitian fellowship, nurturing and growing our reformed faith, and enjoying God’s creation. Youth from congregations throughout the region gather to dig into thematic lessons designed to strengthen the faith of our covenant children. We meet each year near the end of July at a camp in the heart of the Black Hills of South Dakota.
 
 HYC is structured to encourage Christian growth through six lessons throughout the week, along with worship and singing, while also allowing time for campers to develop friendships with their brothers and sisters from across the country. The camp is entirely volunteer led, with pastors and elders, moms and dads, and former campers facilitating the week. Camp is available for those entering sixth grade through high school graduation.
