I recently went to Rapid City (South Dakota) to attend the family convention of the Reformed Church in the United States. A very special anniversary marked this convention : the 300th anniversary of the establishment in America of a Reformed Church from a German background (1725-2025). During this moving celebration, which took place alongside their annual Synod, I was able to give a short presentation on the ministry of Reformed Faith and Life (both the French and Armenian branches). Meeting again old brothers and sisters in the faith and developing new friendships was indeed very precious. The RCUS has been supportive of my ministry since its very beginning in 1998, when I was ordained in the Reformed Churches in South Africa as a missionary in charge of a ministry among French-speaking people, in Africa and elsewhere. For a number of years Rev. Paul Treick (who was recently called back to the Lord) served with great dedication as chairman of the RFL-USA committee which he had largely contributed to setting up. Already in the early eighties the RCUSwas actively supporting the efforts of the late Rev. Aaron Kayayan to have confessing Reformed churches established in the Congo. Rev. Treick himself accompanied my father to what was then known as Zaire. May this long and fruitful collaboration between the RCUS and RFL in service of the Lord and His Kingdom last many more years…
