Our annual camp for young adults took place between 28-31 May near Aixen-Provence, not far from the Mediterranean sea. Our theme was : Promoting Christian schools with confidence, the Biblical motive being Prov. 4:5: Get wisdom, get insight.
We were happy to have more participants than in previous years. A large panel of speakers dealt with a variety of topics, ranging from the foundational elements of a truly Biblical education (covenantal in nature); the history of Protestant schools in France during the 19th and 20th century; the issue of homeschooling against the background of an increasingly hostile attitude from the State; a presentation of various pedagogical approaches and methods bringing back classical education; the kind of testimony that Christian teachers may still bring in the secular school system; the danger for Christian institutions (in particular schools and universities) of losing their Christian character, and other similar topics. We are thankful to members of the Héritage Huguenot foundation based in the U.S. who came all the way to attend our camp, for taking the video footage of all the presentations. We have started posting them on our YouTube channel, hoping they will receive lots of views, and so contribute to fostering the ideal of a godly education that seeks true wisdom and true insight where it can be found.
