Seminary Honors RCUS Pastor for Mission Work

At the 50th Anniversary celebration of the founding of Westminster Biblical Missions, Whitefield Seminary marked the occasion by bestowing upon RCUS pastor and WBM General Secretary Dennis Roe the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity. The seminary noted Brother Roe’s long and productive work in missions.

Pastor Roe received a B.A. in Biblical Studies at John Wesley College (1979), Owosso, Michigan and a M.Div. at the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church (1979). Following graduation from seminary he served as an elementary teacher and administrator for Christian Liberty Academy, Brookfield, Wisconsin (1979–1982). In 1982 Pastor Roe took a call to church planting work. He established Covenant Reformed Church at Carbondale, PA (1982–1995) and then he labored to organize Covenant Reformed Church at Grass Valley, CA (1995–2015) where he served as pastor for twenty years. For thirty years Pastor Roe has been involved in veteran associations where he served as Chaplain for the 25th Infantry Division Association (1995–2000) and as Chaplain for the Third Squadron, Fourth U.S. Cavalry Association (2000–present). Pastor Roe has extensive experience in overseeing the work of Westminster Biblical Missions. His love for the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ brings vitality and excitement to evangelism and missions. This led to a call by City Seminary Sacramento to serve as Adjunct Professor of Evangelism and Missions (2005—present). WESTMINSTER BIBLICAL MISSIONS: He has served as general secretary for Westminster Biblical Missions for over thirty years. This service involves managing all WBM’s mission fields and missionaries which includes fields in Central and Eastern Europe, Mexico, two fields in Pakistan, and now in Nepal. He also works closely with the mission agency Middle East Reformed Fellowship (MERF), especially in the ministries in Pakistan. In addition, on behalf of MERF, WBM, and the Reformed Church in the United States, Pastor Roe has traveled to Cyprus, Egypt, Hungary, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
