RCUS Prayer Calendar

Prayer Calendar: September-October 2026

This prayer calendar has two entries per day of those individuals, synodical committees, missions, and institutions supported by the RCUS.

1. Archives Committee. Pray as the committee maintains the heritage of the RCUS through the collection and preservation of historical items and materials.
Pray for the seven churches and five mission congregations of the Pearl of the Orient Covenant Reformed Church in the Philippines.

2. Board of Trustees Committee. Pray as the committee works to ensure that the nonprofit status of the RCUS is maintained and kept up to date and reported annually to the Secretary of State of North Dakota.
Pray for the Reformed witness in Kenya with respect to the nine churches of the Reformed Fellowship Church in Kenya and 15 churches in the Emmaus Reformed Church

3. Christian Education Committee. Pray as the committee promotes and oversees biblical education and discipleship to the benefit of officers and members of the RCUS for the advancement of the kingdom of Christ.
Pray for the gospel labors of United Reformed Churches in the Congo.

4. Communications Committee. Pray for the promotion of biblical and doctrinal content and church activity of the denomination to the general church membership and the world at large for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom to the glory of God.
Pray for Hannah Foster as she serves the denomination in managing content for the website and social media channels.

5. Diaconal Ministries Committee. Pray for wisdom as the committee seeks to prepare, gather, and steward the resources entrusted to Christ’s Church for the purpose of promoting the gospel and providing tangible demonstrations of His mercy and compassion through impactful relief to those in need.
Pray for Rev. Valentín Alpuche, Rev. Ruben Zartman, and others in the Spanish translation work.

6. Executive Committee. Pray for Synod President Elder Roger Gallimore and Stated Clerk Rev. Carl Goelman and members of the committee as they stimulate the spiritual life of the Church by coordinating the work of the committees and preparing the order of business for the meetings of Synod.
Pray for the labors of Rev. Eric Kayayan in France (Reformed Faith and Life).

7. Finances Committee. Pray for this committee as they labor in creating financial sustainability through planning, guidance, oversight, and execution of financial matters concerning the Church.
Investment Committee.  Pray for the members as they seek to steward the RCUS Endowment Fund prudently to deliver sustainable financial resources that advance the Great Commission.

8. Home Missions Committee. Pray for this committee as members work to advance the Great Commission by supporting RCUS home-mission works and strengthening evangelistic outreach to establish faithful Reformed churches. Covenant Reformed (Belgrade, MT).
Pray for Rev. Orrie Oosthuizen as he leads this congregation. Covenant is currently renting a warehouse-like facility. This year they added eight adults and four children to the church rolls.

9. Interchurch Relations Committee. Pray for the work of this committee toward the promoting of unity of the church, as expressed in the High Priestly prayer (John 17:20-23), by seeking open communication with like-minded denominations/federations.
Pray for the fraternal delegates and their respective church bodies who have visited our Synod and Classes meetings. May ecumenicity continue to grow as we visit one another’s assemblies.

10. Nominations Committee. Pray for those serving on this committee as they seek officers and members of the church with particular talents, interests, and abilities to serve the church. / Pray for Valle de Gracia (Shafter, CA), as much of the work reaches far beyond the local church, serving Spanish-speaking believers, pastors, and students across multiple countries.

11. Pastoral Care Committee. Pray for the work of this committee in the assisting of pastors and their families in their search of counseling to keep them healthy and active in the ministry of God’s Word.
Pray for Omaha Reformed (Omaha, NE) and Rev. Randy Klynsma. ORC has been utilizing elders from St. John’s Reformed Church until local men suitable for the office can be called.

12. Publications & Promotions Committee. Pray for the work of this committee in developing, publishing, and distributing biblically sound, confessionally Reformed resources that equip ministers and elders for their work and to edify, educate, and encourage the members of the RCUS and the wider body of Christ.
Pray for Rev. Chuck Muether as he serves as the new editor of the Reformed Herald.

13. Special Committee for Constitutional Review and Special Committee for the Study of the Creation of a Subordinate Doctrinal Standard with Confessional Authority. Pray for these special committees doing the work that has been assigned by Synod.
Pray for Beatrice, NE as a potential mission work in the South Central Classis.

14. Welcoming Committee. Pray for the committee as it identifies, connects, and intentionally engages with individual churches and groups to bring them into closer fellowship and possible organic union with the RCUS and pursues the recruitment of qualified men to serve as pastors in the RCUS. / Pray for our students under care as they return to the seminary classroom after a summer of interning.

15. Corresponding Relations. Pray for the fellowships with which the RCUS has corresponding relations. May the shared connections in faith and practice continue to grow.
Pray for congregations who have vacant pulpits that the Lord would lead qualified men to fill these vacancies.

16. Pray for Westminster Biblical Missions and General Secretary Rev. Dennis Roe as WBM brings the good news to Pakistan, Mexico, Eastern Europe, and Nepal.
Pray for South Central Iowa mission work, Immanuel Reformed Fellowship, that the church plant would become self-supporting, self-propagating, and self- governing.

17. Pray for the retired ministers in the RCUS.
Pray for the elders and deacons in all of our congregations as they faithfully labor to fulfill their offices.

18. Pray for City Seminary of Sacramento and CPEI (Clinical Pastoral Education International) Chaplaincy Supervisor Rev. John Sawtelle as he trains chaplains who are ministerial members in the RCUS.
Pray for RCUS ministers serving as hospice/hospital chaplains.

19. Pray for Rev. Joshua Savage, who was welcomed at Synod as a new minister of the RCUS. He is serving at Grace Reformed Church (Rapid City, SD).
Pray for Rev. Martin DeWitt as he labors at Emmanuel Reformed Church (Sutton, NE) as temporary supply.

20. Pray that the RCUS camps (Covenant, Heidelberg Youth Camp, Heidelberg West) this past summer have been a blessing to our covenant youth.
Pray for the camps’ directors and overseeing committees as they make plans for next year.  

21. Pray for the mission work in Stickney, SD, that a missionary would begin labors.
Pray for the Reformed Church of Los Angeles (Wilmington, CA) and for the labors of Rev. Rudy Rubio and Rev. Chris Márquez.

22. Pray for the RCUS supporting seminaries:

City Seminary of Sacramento
Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary
Heidelberg Theological Seminary
Mid-American Reformed Seminary
New Geneva Theological Seminary
Seminario Reformado da las Américas.
Pray the faculty, staff, and students as they begin another semester of studies.

23. Pray for the churches of Covenant East Classis.
Pray for CEC President Rev. Sam Rodriguez and Stated Clerk Rev. James Grossmann.

24. Pray for the work of Hope Haven, an RCUS-supported organization that is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities (Rock Valley, IA).
Pray for our fellow-laborers in gospel ministry: Mr. Jim Iwema (Reformed Missions Services) and Mr. David Vandermeer (Word and Deed).

25. Pray for the Corresponding Relations Committee of Western Classis as members continue to reach out to interested groups in California.
Pray for the independent churches in Pennsylvania that are in dialogue with the Welcoming Committee concerning interest in the RCUS.

26. Pray for the churches of Northern Plains Classis.
Pray for NPC President Rev. Hank Bowen and Stated Clerk Rev. Larry Lynch.

27. Pray for Mission to Germany. Pray for Dr. Victor d’Assoville as he trains ministers to establish a Palatinate-style Reformed Church in Germany.

28. Pray for Mission-Forward Subcommittee as it continues to work on growing the endowment fund, working alongside the Barnabas Foundation.
Pray for stewardship of funds as allocations are made for Home Missions, Christian Education, and Diaconal and Foreign Ministries.

29. Pray for the churches of South Central Classis.
Pray for SCC President Rev. Matthew Powell and Stated Clerk Rev. Chris Bradley.

30. Pray for the churches of Western Classis.
Pray for WC President Rev. David Voytek and Stated Clerk Rev. Ruben Zartman.

31.  Pray for the faithful proclamation of the Word and the catechism/confirmation instruction of our youth.
Pray that from Synod to Classis to congregation to family to individual that every word, thought, and deed would be captive to the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ. May God be given the glory!
