Church Building Update

Greetings in the Lord!

Finally, we’ve transferred to our new church building! Our first worship service was on May 7th with most of the family members in attendance. There were also those who came from the neighborhood, both adults and children. We are more motivated than ever to do evangelization and reach out to our new neighbors.

I would like to share with you a chat message which I sent out to our church chat group describing our first day:

“Our first worship this morning was a sweltering experience owing to the heat. But, at the same time, it was a humbling experience. For we heard once again the story of how we began as a mission congregation. For quite a long time we were wandering, and hopping from place to place, not knowing where the Lord would lead us. We could only dream then if we would ever find a place of our own.

“But the Lord led us along the way. With all the “ups and downs” He never left us. And today we celebrated a dedication of the new church building and of ourselves as members of His Church whom He has chosen.

“Among the challenges preached to us was one in particular: that we as a church should live under God’s authority and rule (1 Kings 8). As the Ark was placed in its proper place, it is also vital for us to place God in His proper place in our lives. We should also strive to be a church that lives under the Scriptures and lives dependently upon the Lord. We should also strive to be a church that shows concern for others. Most of all, let us be a church that is fully committed to the Lord.

“May the Lord continue to bless us as we strive to live as Christ would have us to live. And all this we do for God’s glory. Soli Deo Gloria!”

We had a Consistory meeting last Friday and decided to start worship service at 8AM to avoid the heat. We also plan to build a ceiling which will require us to solicit further financial help from members and other church friends. Again, in behalf of the congregation of Providence Reformed Church, please receive our deep and humble gratitude for your generous financial assistance, encouragement and prayers.

This is in many ways a new beginning for us. Don’t stop praying for our church, our pastor and our members as we continue to live according to God’s will.
