CONTACT:  Pastor Lassley, 605-881-4997 or e-mail: OUR VISION: “…to know God through Christ and to glorify Him in all that we do.” What is a “vision” statement? In brief, it’s a statement that defines both who we are and what we want to become. For the Body of Christ here at Covenant Reformed it defines who we are and what we want to become in relationship to God, one another, and those in every sphere of the culture around us. Relationships are key to our vision. God made us to need relationships - with Him and each other. As a redeemed covenant community, we acknowledge and celebrate the fact that… “we are not our own, but belong to our faithful Savior Jesus Christ.”  Furthermore, we rejoice that, in Him, we have also been brought into a special relationship with one another in His Church, the household (family) of the living God. Knowing God through Christ, both personally and covenantally, our greatest desire then is that we might glorify Him in all that we do: in our worship, in our teaching, in our families, in our vocations, in our recreations, etc, etc…all that we do. At the heart of our vision lies a deep longing to become, more and more, a church that strives to worship God more fully and teach about Him more faithfully, so that we might be better prepared to nurture and reach others more effectively with the grace and truth that comes with a knowledge of God through Jesus Christ, in our local community of Watertown, the State of South Dakota, our nation, and around the world. OUR VALUES: Being a “Reformed” church, we believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God, inerrant in all that it teaches, and the sole authority for the regulation, foundation, and confirmation of our faith. Our values are those core principles that God has shown us in the Bible upon which He wants to build His church; values which the Church throughout history has recognized as being either expressly taught in the Bible or that can be necessarily inferred from the Bible’s teaching. Our values are summarized in both, the great creeds of the early church — The Apostle’s Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed, as well as the catechism and confessions of the Reformation churches, referred to as: The Three Forms of Unity — The Heidelberg Catechism, The Belgic Confession of Faith, and The Cannons of Dort. In these values, the Body of Covenant Reformed stands united and firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side with one another, our fellow R.C.U.S. congregations, and the Church throughout history for the faith of the gospel. OUR VEHICLES: At Covenant Reformed, our vehicles are the various venues in which we live out our vision and values through worship, teaching, nurture, and reaching. WORSHIP: Sunday Morning Worship service; the development of hearts that look to God in reverence and praise. TEACHING: Covenant Life Communities, C.R.Y.F. Covenant Reformed Youth Fellowship, and Bi-weekly Wednesday Night Bible Studies; communicating the truths of the Bible in a way that they may not only be learned but applied at every stage of life. NURTURE: Monthly Fellowship Meals and Family Fellowship Nights; opportunities to celebrate the graciousness and goodness of God in fellowship with one another. Bi-weekly Men’s & Women’s Ministry; gender specific ministries which provide strategic support and nurture at various stages of growth allowing us to better connect and support one another. REACHING: Annual celebrations with our community and missions both here in South Dakota and abroad. Supporting the work of the R.C.U.S.’s Heidelberg Theological Seminary in Sioux Falls by encouraging, equipping, and supporting the work of future leaders around the world to proclaim and minister the gospel to the next generation and beyond. IT’S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS…first with God and then with others. In our fast-paced, busy, multiple-choice world, we want to be a place of relationships, learning, and ministry. At Covenant Reformed we will always be together on Sunday mornings in worship, Covenant Life communities, and fellowship meals. We will also be together during our Bi-weekly, Wednesday night Bible studies and monthly family fellowship nights. The small groups and book studies that arise out of the Men’s and Women’s Ministry also enable us to develop and even greater closeness with those we see during our Sunday and Wednesday services. And our youth and children's ministries will follow the same process, utilizing age-appropriate vehicles as we all share in the journey of knowing God through Christ and glorifying Him in all that we do. IT’S ABOUT MOVEMENT… 1. Engaging in worship 2. Growing deeper 3. Allowing others to nurture and disciple you 4. Nurturing and discipling others 5. Serving in ministry ELDERS:
